Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Kalimantan Selatan (Kalsel) recently held a plenary session to discuss the views of factions on the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) on the Accountability Report of the Implementation of Regional Revenue and Expenditures (LPPA) for the 2022 fiscal year (Raperda LPPA 2022) of the Kalsel Regional Government on Wednesday, May 24th. Chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the DPRD Kalsel, M Syaripuddin, there were 8 factions that gave their opinions on and appreciation to the Kalsel Provincial Government for successfully obtaining an Unqualified Opinion (Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian or WTP) for the 10th consecutive time.
Among them, the Golkar Faction emphasized the need for the Kalsel Regional Government to pay attention to ensuring that regional expenditures are in accordance with the needs of the people. This can improve the economic growth of the community and help to reduce inflation that will eventually improve the Human Development Index.
Meanwhile, the Nasdem Faction encouraged the Kalsel Provincial Government to conduct in-depth analysis on the planning, budgeting, and target setting of the Regional Budget to achieve the proper and targeted use of finances. Nasdem believes that synergy between the executive and legislative branches is equally important in every discussion and review of Raperda.
Overall, all factions showed appreciation for the Kalsel Provincial Government’s successful achievement of obtaining the WTP for the 10th consecutive time. The DPRD Kalsel is optimistic that this award can motivate the Kalsel Provincial Government to maximize the potential increase in Regional Revenue to reduce dependence on the central government and make Kalsel more independent in its development.
In response to the faction’s views, Kalsel Governor H Sahbirin Noor, or Paman Birin through the Kalsel Provincial Secretary, Roy Rizali Anwar, said that the optimal Revenue of a Region is inevitably linked to the role of the legislative and executive branches in synergy. “Together, we will build a spirit to develop and prosper the people of Kalsel. We agree with the hopes expressed and will initiate in-depth discussions or evaluations to obtain a clearer picture of the success achieved to be maintained,” said Roy.
