Acting Head of Limpasu Subdistrict, H Musripani said that there were 100 participants in the socialization, consisting of village officials in the Limpasu sub-district, including the Head of Village, Secretary of the Village, all Village Consultative Board (BPD) Chairs, Community Empowerment Institution (LPM), Karang Taruna youth organization, community and religious leaders, and youth. The resource persons were from the Prosecutor’s Office, namely the Head of General Crime Division (Pidum) Herlinda and the HST Regional Police.
“The purpose and objective is to provide an understanding of the dangers of drugs for the community so that they can have the same understanding, which is that drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking should not be carried out” he explained.
According to him, drug abuse can cause bigger problems and negative effects. The involvement of village governments, religious leaders, community leaders, and families is very important in helping eradicate drug abuse.
“That’s why synergy between stakeholders is needed to overcome the social problem of drug abuse together,” he said.
Meanwhile, Regent of HST, H Aulia Oktafiandi said drug abuse is a serious problem that not only destroys individuals’ lives but also threatens social and economic stability in the region.
“The HST Regional Government also plays a role in prevention efforts through education and community awareness, collaborating with schools, government agencies, and community organizations to provide information about the dangers of drug abuse,” he said.
Aulia hopes that the participants in the socialization can become pioneers and driving forces capable of leading the wider community to stay away from drugs and educate them about the dangers of drug abuse.
He invites all elements of society, including families, religious schools, and community organizations, to unite in combating drug abuse.
“This is our shared responsibility to create a drug-free environment so that future generations can live safely, healthily, and achieve success. Never try drugs, ‘once it’s ruined, there’s no going back’,” he concluded.
