Bupati Tapanuli Selatan (Tapsel) H Dolly Pasaribu received an audience from the Alumni Association of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and also established a relationship between the local government and IPB alumni in the Aula Rumah Dinas Bupati Tapsel, Komplek Perkantoran Pemerintah Tapanuli Selatan, Jalan Prof Lafran Pane, Sipirok, on Monday (1/5).
Dolly said that in accordance with Tapanuli Selatan’s established vision of being progressive, it should be noted that even though Tapsel is located in a rural area, the way of thinking should not be backward. Therefore, Tapsel’s progress is based on two main pillars, namely human resources development and the productive and sustainable utilization of natural resources.
“The human resources aspect refers to the need to always be healthy and intelligent and should always work together and integrate into one component of society to promote prosperity. While the natural resources aspect is the foundation of Tapsel’s development, it should be utilized productively and sustainably,” Dolly added.
There are many ideas that can be implemented to propel Tapanuli Selatan’s development forward significantly. Hence, Dolly Pasaribu openly conveyed the need for IPB alumni to have a direct discussion regarding the issues in Tapsel and convey any ideas that Pemkab Tapsel can take further action on.
“Furthermore, I also hope that this relationship can continue to progress smoothly towards the development of the farmers and natural resources in Tapsel and make it a prosperous and progressive Tapanuli Selatan,” Dolly expressed.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the IPB Alumni Association, Rusydi Nasution, informed that one of IPB’s programs with the local government is called WIBASA (Wiratani Bangun Desa). It is one of the programs between the local government and IPB to bring IPB alumni back to their hometown and be engaged with the local authority.
Furthermore, there are several innovative products from IPB that can be applied in Tapanuli Selatan, which have been launched at IPB, based on digital technology and management. Rusydi stated that these products can facilitate development and optimize time and energy in coordinating development efforts in Tapanuli Selatan.
