In addition, according to him, this development plan covers various sectors, such as infrastructure, economy, education, health, tourism, and the environment.
Not only that, South Kalimantan has also achieved significant development indicators.
The improvement of access and quality of infrastructure is one of the province’s successes.
Better road networks, adequate healthcare facilities, and wider access to clean water have improved the quality of life for the community.
Furthermore, he explained, the provincial government has also succeeded in driving the economy through programs for industrial development, tourism, and agriculture sectors.
“The 2023 Regional Development Awards serve as a motivation for South Kalimantan to continuously improve sustainable development and realize the welfare of the community,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN) and Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Suharso Monoarfa, stated that the PPD is expected to encourage regional governments to develop more consistent planning.
“The PPD is a comprehensive and creative evaluation aimed at improving the integration of central and regional development implementation and as a form of motivation and appreciation to regional governments for their achievements in planning and implementing development,” Suharso Monoarfa said at the National Development Planning Consultation (Musrenbangnas) 2023 held at the Assembly Hall, Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, on Tuesday (16/5).
According to Suharso, this award is an appreciation for provincial, district, and city governments that have performed well in planning, achieving implementation, and development innovation.
“With the PPD, it is expected that regional governments will be encouraged to develop more consistent, comprehensive, measurable, and applicable planning,” he said.
Furthermore, the 2023 PPD awards are expected to enhance synergy and synchronization between central and regional planning, as well as encourage innovations to achieve regional development targets that support national development.
