“The active participation of all agricultural stakeholders is highly expected for the success of ST2023. Welcome the census agents to your home from June 1st to July 31st, 2023. Let’s together record Indonesia’s agriculture for food sovereignty and farmers’ welfare,” he said.
The Agricultural Census is conducted every ten years in years ending with the number 3, pursuant to the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics. The implementation of ST2023 also refers to the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) program.
The implementation of ST2023 is expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the state of agriculture in Indonesia down to the smallest regions. The data obtained from ST2023 will be used as a benchmark for agricultural statistics and as the framework for agricultural surveys.
The ST2023 aims to provide structural data on agriculture, especially for the smallest administrative units, as data providers that can be used as a benchmark in current agricultural statistics and providing a sample framework for agricultural surveys.
ST2023 will cover seven sub-sectors, which are food crops, horticulture, plantations, livestock, fisheries, forestry, and agricultural services. All agricultural stakeholders in Indonesia, including individual agricultural units, other agricultural units (grouped), and legal agricultural companies, will be covered under ST2023.
Lastly, Roy Suryanto emphasized that BPS Balangan will deploy a total of 173 partner agents to collect data from agricultural stakeholders in Balangan Regency over the next two months.
