Polres Asahan acted swiftly to apprehend one of the ten perpetrators involved in the case of the rape of two underage girls on Friday, 14 April, at approximately 10 p.m. in the Buntu Pane district, Asahan Regency. Another incident occurred on Saturday, 15 April, in a boarding house in Tanjung Alam Village, Sei Dadap, Asahan Regency.
Kapolres Asahan, AKBP Rocky H Marpaung, revealed this during a Press Release at the Asahan Police Station on Saturday, 29 April. The event was attended by the head of the Asahan Women and Children Protection Agency, Edy Sukmana, Asahan KPAD Chairperson Irsan Kumala, LPPAI Chairperson Suyono (Mas Yon), the Kasat Reskrim, the Kanit UPPA Asahan, and members of the media.
The head of the Asahan Police explained that the incident occurred when one of the perpetrators picked up the victims. The victims were on a motorcycle with one of their friends, and one of the perpetrators rode with them to Sionggang Village, Buntu Pane District, to meet with the other perpetrators. The victims were then given alcohol and taken to a palm plantation where they were sexually assaulted by the perpetrators. On April 15th, the perpetrators brought the victims to a boarding house in Tanjung Alam Village, Sei Dadap, Asahan Regency.
After the perpetrators had satisfied their desires, they left the victims and met with the victims’ families, who then reported the incident to the Asahan Police Station. The Women and Children Protection Unit immediately launched an investigation and apprehended one of the ten perpetrators. While one perpetrator is in custody, police continue to search for the remaining suspects.
Kapolres Asahan urged the families of the suspects to surrender the perpetrators to the Asahan Police Station because the police had identified them. He also called for cooperation with the Asahan Women and Children Protection Agency and child protection organizations to solve this case. He stated that this case is the responsibility of all members of society and that they would do everything to solve it.
