BANJARBARU, metro7.co.id – In order to commemorate the 77th Bhayangkara Day on July 1, 2023, the South Kalimantan Provincial Police Department (Polda Kalsel) organized shooting, hunting safari, and archery competitions.
The opening ceremony took place at the shooting range of the Polda Kalsel’s Mobile Brigade (Satbrimob) in Banjarbaru on Friday, June 16. The opening was led by the chief of Polda Kalsel, Irjen Pol Andi Rian Djajadi.
The event was attended by Governor Sahbirin Noor, Chairman of Kalsel Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) Supian HK, Commander of Antasari Regional Military Command 101 Brigadier General TNI Rudi Puruwito, and the police chief of Kalsel and its municipalities, as well as other members of the local government.
During the ceremony, it was reported that the shooting competition with target and reaction categories would be held on Friday and Sunday at the Teratai Shooting Range of Satbrimob Kalsel, involving 309 participants in exclusive, fun game, and reaction categories.
The Hunting Safari competition would take place for three days from Friday to Sunday, on June 23-25, 2023, in the districts of Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru, with participation from 30 members of the South Kalimantan Shooting Association (Perbakin Kalsel).
Meanwhile, the archery competition would be held on Friday and Saturday, June 23-24, 2023, at the Teratai Shooting Range of Polda Kalsel Satbrimob in Banjarbaru, with participation from 174 individuals from the military, police, and other government agencies.
In his speech, Irjen Rian, the chief of Polda Kalsel, stated that this event aimed not only to sharpen the participants’ skills but also to enhance the synergy and communication among all parties involved.
“I encourage all participants to uphold the values of sportsmanship and solidarity, so that the competition can run smoothly,” he explained.
In addition to the competitions, the chief of police also mentioned that various community activities would be carried out to maximize the celebration of the 77th Bhayangkara Day. These activities include the distribution of aid packages to the public, the distribution of wheelchairs, cleft palate surgeries, and housing renovations for the less fortunate.
The event concluded with the release of participants for the hunting safari of wild boars in Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru districts, marked by the raising of the start flag.
Governor Sahbirin of South Kalimantan expressed his appreciation for the various competitions organized by Polda Kalsel to enliven the 77th Bhayangkara Day this year.
“I would also like to acknowledge the social and community activities carried out by Polda Kalsel to assist the less fortunate. This is evidence that Polda Kalsel is present and involved in the community,” he said.
“Happy 77th Bhayangkara Day in 2023 to all the members of Polda Kalsel in Banua,” he concluded.
